Aktuelles Projekt

Im BMBF-Projekt "ECAS-BALTIC" werden "Strategien des ökosystem-verträglichen Küstenschutzes und der ökosystem-fördernden Küstenanpassung (ÖKA) für die Deutsche Ostseeküste“ untersucht. Das Greifswalder Teilprojekt beschäftigt sich mit Wegen, die die soziale Akzeptanz von ökosystembasierten Küstenschutzmaßnahmen fördern. ECAS-BALTIC wird wertvolle Erkenntnisse darüber liefern, welche Governance-Mechanismen zu einer gesellschaftlich akzeptierten ÖKA führen können.  Mehr dazu ...

Kleinbäuerliche Landwirtschaft in Lateinamerika (DFG: 2016-2019)
Kleinbäuerliche und indigene Landwirte erleben komplexe und facettenreiche Anpassungsprozesse. Sowohl strukturelle Bedingungen als auch verschiedene Faktoren, die die Anpassungsfähigkeit der Bauern einschränken, beeinflussen den Wandel in den produktiven Systemen der untersuchten Gemeinden, sowie deren Implikationen auf die Landnutzung. Die Hauptziele dieses Forschungsvorhabens waren die Folgenden: 1) die qualitative Untersuchung gegenwärtiger Transformationsprozesse in der kleinbäuerlichen und indigenen Landnutzung und deren potenziellen Implikationen und 2) ein Beitrag zur Entwicklung sinnvoller, exemplarischer Erkenntnisse aus lokalen, qualitativen Fallstudien für deren Integration in regionale bis globale Landnutzungsanalysen. In diesem Zusammenhang wurde in zwei Fallregionen eine reiche Empirie erhoben: in der Provinz Velasco (Ostbolivien) und im Norden von Chiapas (Mexiko). Mehr Informationen

Integriertes Management von Biosphärenreservaten (2010-2011)
Dieses Projekt förderte den Austausch und die Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Institut für Geographie und Geologie der Universität Greifswald und dem Fachbereich Geographie der Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana - Iztapalapa, Mexiko. Zu den Aktivitäten gehörten Seminare unter der Leitung von Dr. A. Cristina de la Vega-Leinert und Dr. Ludger Brenner, Exkursionen und Feldforschung in deutschen und mexikanischen Biosphärenreservaten. Zu den Ergebnissen gehörten 4 Abschlussarbeiten und Publikationen zu einer detaillierten Fallstudie über bäuerliche Kaffeesysteme in Mexikanischen Los Tuxtlas Biosphärenreservat. Mehr Informationen
