Arbeitsgruppe Fernerkundung und Geoinformationsverarbeitung
Felix Beer ist Landschaftsökologe mit Schwerpunkt Moorforschung. Seit 2022 beschäftigt er sich als Doktorand, gefördert durch die Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, in der Arbeitsgruppe Fernerkundung und Geoinformationsverarbeitung mit der Charakterisierung und Kartierung von Mooren und Feuchtgebieten im Cerrado, Brasilien. Dafür kombiniert er in einem interdisziplinären Ansatz ökologische Feldforschung mit Satellitenfernerkundung.
Zur Kartierung der Moorverbreitung nutzt Felix Neuronale Netze die mit Zeitreihen optischer und Radarsatellitendaten gefüttert werden. Die Datengrundlage dafür liefert ihm unter anderem seine ökologische Feldarbeit.
