• geologische Entwicklung und Gliederung Mitteleuropas Grundgebirgs- und Deckgebirgsstockwerk, kaledonische, variskische und alpidische Orogenese, allgemeine Entwicklung im Quartär (Grundzüge)

• Quartärgeologische Entwicklung Mitteleuropas Pleistozän (Alt-, Mittel-, Jungpleistozän): Klimaentwicklung, allgemeine Reliefentwicklung, Flora und Fauna Spätpleistozäne und holozäne Naturraum- und Landschaftsentwicklung: Klimaentwicklung, allgemeine Reliefentwicklung, Bodengenese, Vegetationsgeschichte, Gewässernetzentwicklung (Becken- und Seengenese, Flussgeschichte, paläohydrologische Entwicklung (Klima vs. Mensch), Geschichte von Nord- und Ostsee, Siedlungs- und Landnutzungsgeschichte (Kulturlandschaftsentwicklung vom Mesolithikum bis heute, Mensch als geologischer Faktor)

• Natur- und Landschaftsräume Mitteleuropas Rezente, physisch-geographische Charakteristik (klimatologisch, hydrologisch, geomorphologisch, pedologisch, vegetationskundlich), d.h. hypsometrischer Formenwandel der mitteleuropäischen Landschaftsräume (Küstengebiet (Nord- und Ostsee), Jung- und Altmoränen-gebiet, Mittelgebirgsschwelle, Alpenvorland und Alpen.
