Instituskolloquium: Co-working spaces: enabling flexibility in the countryside

Co-working spaces were rapidly spreading even before the pandemic, and that trend has continued. Currently, they’re also colonizing the countryside, and this has important consequences for those living there. Given teleworking possibilities, they can now reside in the countryside and accept jobs in nearby or even far away cities. But the atmosphere in such rural places is different from their urban counterparts. We show the development, construct a framework in the tradition of Hägerstrand, and discuss policy implications.
