Viet Nguyen works as a Geoinfomatics Specialist in the Earth Observation and Geoinformation Science Lab. His main responsibilities are collecting, processing, managing, and visualizing Geo-data and WebGIS applications.

Viet graduated from the Master's program in Forest Information Technology at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, with a focus on GIS and Remote Sensing. His thesis is about "Estimating individual tree attributes based on LiDAR data" which analyzes large-scale airborne laser scanning of the North Rhine-Westphalia state for forest inventory on single-tree scale.

His expertise and interests are geospatial analysis, programming, point cloud, and geodata.
